Formula1 - Yas Marina - Abu Dhabi
The first ever race to take place at the Yas Marina Circuit was in the year 2009,located on the beautiful Yas Island the length of the circuit
is 5.55kms and has nine right turns and eleven left turns, only few venues in the formula one calendar are similar to this which run in anti-clockwise
The inaugural race was also the first ever day night race in the history of formula one.flood lights that were used were so powerful that it did
not make any difference in day and night. The inaugural race at the Yas Marina cricuit was won by Sebastian Vettel for Red Bull. The 2009 race at the
Yas Marina Circuit was not that entertaining from the spectators point of view as both championships had been sealed in Brazil.
However at the 2010 race the drivers championship was decided in Abu Dhabi for the first time. With Sebastian Vettel making his mark at this circuit
for the second time and subsequently winning the world championship. The 2011 race was won by Lewis Hamilton followed up with Fernando Alonso on the
second position and Jenson Button on the third. The year 2012 saw championship leader Sebastian Vettel start the race from pitlane and finish in the
third position because of his disqualification from qualifying for not having enough fuel to return to parc ferme.
The Yas Marina circuit with its location, atomsphere and tight corners for overtaking combine together tomake it one of the most demanding and
competitive circuits for the formula one drivers.
